Scrotox, also known as Botox for the scrotum, is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure designed to relax the muscles in the scrotal area. By injecting small amounts of Botox into targeted muscles, Scrotox reduces tightness and creates a smoother, more relaxed appearance. Patients may choose Scrotox for several reasons, including enhanced comfort, improved aesthetics, and relief from tightness or pulling sensations in the scrotum, especially during physical activities or warmer weather.
Scrotox can rejuvenate the scrotum for bigger-looking testicles, reduce wrinkles, decrease sweating and pain, and even provide more pleasurable sexual activity. We are very pleased to offer this confidence-boosting treatment at The Maercks Institute.

What is Scrotox?
Scrotox — Botox® for the scrotum — is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment where injections of the muscle-relaxing botulinum toxin type A are used to make the scrotum look and feel better.
Before Scrotox was used as a cosmetic treatment (since approximately 2016), it was used medically as a way to relieve scrotal pain due to inflammation if surgery couldn’t. Results from Scrotox appear about one week following treatment and last between 3 to 4 months.
Key benefits of Scrotox
- Reduced wrinkles on scrotum
- Testicles hang lower and appear larger
- Decreased sweating
- Decreased pain
- Relaxes the area
- Fuller, smoother testicles
- Enhanced sensitivity equals more pleasurable sexual activity

Who gets Scrotox?

Different individuals choose Scrotox for different reasons because it offers different benefits. We see patients who request this service are in the age range of the early 20s up to the 50s, with most in their 20s and 30s, and the two most common reasons we hear for seeking treatment are testicular pain due to contraction and testicles that appear too small. The service is also requested often to lessen sweating and the appearance of wrinkles. There’s also the element of elevated pleasure during sexual activity, as Scrotox often increases sensitivity, as well as the psychological benefit of enhanced confidence. Furthermore, Scrotox is frequently used to help men who are dealing with fertility problems, as it relaxes the testicles.
What happens during a Scrotox treatment?
Although Scrotox involves injections, the procedure is quite painless and easy. Numbing cream will be applied to the scrotum to keep you as comfortable as possible, and then about 50 gentle injections of Botox will be administered with a fine needle. These injections are made into the skin, not the actual testicles, where it is absorbed into the nerves in that specific area. Most patients are surprised with how quickly the injections are done, with treatment time typically taking anywhere from 2 to 4 minutes.
Downtime and results
There is no downtime with Scrotox. Patients will be able to return to their regular day immediately; however, please avoid heavy lifting or sexual intercourse for a few hours.
Side effects with Scrotox are very rare, but some patients temporarily experience slight numbness, swelling, bruising, a tight feeling, and/or discomfort. If you’re concerned about side effects or have any questions, this can be discussed during your consultation with Dr. Maercks. Results from Scrotox appear about one week following treatment and last between 3 to 4 months.
Why Choose Dr. Maercks for Scrotox Instead of Medspas
Common Concerns with Scrotox at Medspas include:
- Limited Expertise in Genital Anatomy: Most medspa practitioners are not trained in advanced genital anatomy, which is essential for understanding how to target the right muscles for effective, safe relaxation without affecting surrounding tissues.
- Low-Dosage Treatments for Safety: Many medspas rely on lower Botox doses to minimize risk, which can compromise effectiveness and require multiple sessions for noticeable results. Medspa technicians cannot typically administer higher doses safely.
- “One-Size-Fits-All” Approach: Medspas often offers Scrotox as a standardized procedure without detailed customization. This approach can overlook the patient’s unique anatomical structure and desired outcomes, leading to inconsistent results.
Why Scrotox with Dr. Maercks Outperforms Medspa Treatments
- Greater Effectiveness in Fewer Sessions: Dr. Maercks’s physician-administered Scrotox delivers powerful, lasting relaxation, reducing the need for frequent touch-ups often required at medspas.
- Custom Treatment for Optimal Results: Unlike the standardized approach at many medspas, Dr. Maercks tailors each treatment to suit the patient’s unique anatomy and goals, achieving results that are both comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.
- Safety and Precision: With years of experience in aesthetic procedures, Dr. Maercks administers Scrotox safely and effectively, minimizing risks while delivering a more consistent, high-quality outcome.
