Botox Injections in Miami, FL
Average Cost: From $1000
Botox is extremely popular throughout the world for those looking for more youthful-looking skin without the wrinkles that typically come with age. With millions of treatments done every year, Botox is a safe, non-invasive way to remove wrinkles for those ages 18-65, and we are proud to offer this valuable injectable treatment to our valued patients.
Botox has been approved by the FDA and was first introduced to the field of cosmetic surgery in 2002. The medication is most often used for crow’s feet and moderate to severe frown lines that create wrinkles on the face. Botox can also be used to control muscle spasms and excessive sweating.
What to Expect
Dr. Maercks first identifies the injection site, and then injects a purified botulinum toxin into the area. This injection is only used for cosmetic purposes, and treatment only takes about 15 minutes. The medication works by decreasing muscle contraction and allowing the wrinkles to even themselves out. Most patients see the results they want within 4-8 days of treatment, and the medication works for up to 6 months. If the patient has no adverse reaction to the injection, some can even come back for another treatment within 3-4 months.
Minimal side effects may occur after Botox, including stinging, bruising or redness around the site of the injection. There is no downtime required after treatment, and most patients return immediately to their daily lives. After treatment, patients should stay in an upright position for at least six hours, and no alcohol should be consumed during that period.
Side effects may also occur in the form of blurry or double vision, change/loss of voice, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or loss of muscle strength in the rare occasion that the medication spreads away from the injection site. Those with muscle or nerve conditions should always inform Dr. Maercks before undergoing any type of treatment.
